Downton Abbey Season 7 Release Date
This is the most well-known British historical drama. It shows how the lives of a wealthy family, the Crawleys, and their servants are similar and different. Between 1912 and 1926, the story took place. As big things happened in Britain, this show also shows how the social order changed.
You’ll see how aristocratic families lived, as well as the time of the Titanic, World War I, and the Spanish flu pandemic. This show is mostly about the difference in class and how the rich and the poor interact with each other. In each episode of Downton Abbey, the lives of the rich and their servants were shown to be very similar. It shows that if something happens in the life of a rich woman, it also happens to the woman who works for her. If the rich woman cries, you might see that the woman who works for her also cries. So, it’s basically a show about how the two classes of people are alike and different.
This story takes place at a time when a lot was going on in the world. So, Downton Abbey shows these great events one by one in each season, along with the main plot of showing the two classes of society. And shows how the British social order has changed over time. In the first season, the show shows how the Titanic went down. Then, in the second season, it focuses on World War I, the Spanish flu pandemic, and the Marconi scandal. Season 3 is about the Irish War of Independence, and Season 4 is about the Teapot Dome scandal. The main events of Season 5 are the British general election of 1923 and the Beer Hall Putsch. In Season 6, the working class got stronger and the British upper class got weaker.
Season 7 Cast
Since there isn’t a seventh season, neither of them would be cast. The show has a huge cast, so we’ll tell you about some of the people who have been in all six seasons. The cast is almost always the same from season to season.
Hugh Bonneville played Robert Crawley, Elizabeth McGovern played his wife Cora, Michelle Dockery played his sister Lady Mary, Laura Carmichael played his sister Lady Edith, and Jessica Brown Findlay played his sister Lady Sybil. Maggie Smith played Violet, Samantha Bond played Lady Rosamund Painswick, Dan Stevens played Matthew Crawley, Penelope Wilton played Isobel Crawley, Allen Leech played Tom Branson, and David Robb. Tom Cullen as Lord Gillingham, Shirley MacLaine as Martha Levinson, and Lily James as Lady Rose McClare.
Mathew Goode played Henry Talbot, and Harry Hadden Paton played Bertie Pelham. Julian Ovenden played Charles Blake. So, this was the family of the Crawleys. Now, let’s talk about the house staff, or servants. This group includes:
Mr. Carson was played by Jim Carter, Mrs. Hughes by Phyllis Logan, Thomas Barrow by Rob James Collier, and Miss O’Brien by Siobhan Finneran. Brenden Coyle played Mr. Bates, Joanne Froggatt played Anna, Kevin Doyle played Mr. Molesley, and Thomas Howes played William Mason. Rose Leslie played Gwen Dawson, Amy Nuttall played Ethel Parks, Matt Milne played Alfred Nugent, Raquel Cassidy played Baxter, Ed Speleers played James Kent, Michael C. Fox played Andy Parker, and Andrew Scarborough played Tim Drewe. Cara Theobold as Ivy Stuart, Sophie McShera as Daisy, and Lesley Nicol as Mrs. Patmore.
The part of Matthew Crawley that Dan Stevens played is now over. Dan’s contract was not renewed, and the producers didn’t want to cast him again. So, if there is a season 7 (which is unlikely), you won’t find Matthew Crawley.
