Story

This is the most well-known British historical drama. It shows how the lives of a wealthy family, the Crawleys, and their servants are similar and different. Between 1912 and 1926, the story took place. As big things happened in Britain, this show also shows how the social order changed.

You’ll see how aristocratic families lived, as well as the time of the Titanic, World War I, and the Spanish flu pandemic. This show is mostly about the difference in class and how the rich and the poor interact with each other. In each episode of Downton Abbey, the lives of the rich and their servants were shown to be very similar. It shows that if something happens in the life of a rich woman, it also happens to the woman who works for her. If the rich woman cries, you might see that the woman who works for her also cries. So, it’s basically a show about how the two classes of people are alike and different.

This story takes place at a time when a lot was going on in the world. So, Downton Abbey shows these great events one by one in each season, along with the main plot of showing the two classes of society. And shows how the British social order has changed over time. In the first season, the show shows how the Titanic went down. Then, in the second season, it focuses on World War I, the Spanish flu pandemic, and the Marconi scandal. Season 3 is about the Irish War of Independence, and Season 4 is about the Teapot Dome scandal. The main events of Season 5 are the British general election of 1923 and the Beer Hall Putsch. In Season 6, the working class got stronger and the British upper class got weaker.
